About Ascari Cars
 Ascari Cars Ltd is a relative newcomer when compared to the likes of Mercedes Benz and BMW. It is a British company which was founded in Dorset in 1995 and named after Alberto Ascari who was the first ever Formula One double world champion. Ascari specialises in performance road cars and also has a sussessful racing team. In 2000 the company moved both parts of the business to it's present home of Banbury in Oxfordshire.
As well as moving to Oxfordshire Ascari also expanded it's racing assets by acquiring a race track in Andalucia, Southern Spain. Ascari Race Resort is the ideal location for people wanting to relax and let off steam by racing fast cars, with both racing and road cars available for guests and visitors to test drive on the superb track.
The first concept road car, the Ascari FGT was made in 1995 and in 1998 the production model, the Ascari Ecosse, was launched. This was followed in 2003 by the Ascari KZ1 and in 2006 by an updated version of the KZ1, the A10. The KZ1 and A10 are still in production and made to order from the Banbury factory.
In 1995 the racing version of the FGT concept car was run in the British GT Championships and in 2000 the Ascari A410 ran in the Le Mans Prototype.
This was followed in 2003 by the KZ1R which was an updated version of the A410, which ran in the FIA GT3 class in 2005.
In late 2007 the test track at Ascari Race Resort was used by the popular BBC TV series Top Gear to test and compare the big 3 German car makers, using the BMW M3, the Audi RS4 and the Mercedes C Class 63AMG. The conclusion was, they were all great cars!
